Cisco Routing & Switching (CCNA CCNP & CCIE)

Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Routing and Switching is a certification program for entry-level network engineers that helps maximize your investment in foundational networking knowledge and increase the value of your employer’s network. CCNA Routing and Switching is for Network Specialists, Network Administrators, and Network Support Engineers with 1-3 years of experience. The CCNA Routing and Switching validates the ability to install, configure, operate, and troubleshoot medium-size routed and switched networks.

Routing and Switching is a course that covers the fundamental concepts and technologies used in the routing and switching of data packets in modern computer networks. Topics typically covered include network design and architecture, IP addressing and subnetting, routing protocols (such as OSPF and BGP), switch configuration and VLANs, and network security. The course may also include hands-on lab work to give students practical experience with configuring and troubleshooting network devices. The course is typically aimed at students pursuing a career in network administration or network engineering, and may be a part of a computer science or computer engineering degree program.

Students in a Routing and Switching course will learn about the following key concepts:

  1. Network design and architecture: Students will learn about different types of networks, such as LANs, WANs, and VPNs, and how to design and implement them.
  2. IP addressing and subnetting: Students will learn about IP addresses and how they are used to uniquely identify devices on a network. They will also learn about subnetting, which is the process of dividing a network into smaller subnets to improve network organization and security.
  3. Routing protocols: Students will learn about routing protocols, such as OSPF and BGP, which are used to exchange routing information between devices in a network.
  4. Switch configuration and VLANs: Students will learn how to configure switches and create VLANs to segment a network into smaller, more manageable units.
  5. Network security: Students will learn about security threats and vulnerabilities in networks, and how to protect networks against these threats using techniques such as firewalls and encryption.
  6. Hands-on lab work : Students will have the opportunity to apply the concepts they have learned in a simulated network environment through hands-on lab work.

Additionally, students will gain knowledge and experience in configuring and troubleshooting network devices, setting up and maintaining network infrastructure, and implementing network security measures.
