Description

Bioreactor Design and Analysis

This is a foundational course for undergraduate and graduate students interested in bioprocess engineering or biological engineering. The student will learn about batch, fed-batch, and continuous bioreactor design principles. The needs for mass and heat transport for a specific fermentation system will be discussed. The student will also be able to define appropriate criteria for scaling up bioprocesses and, if necessary, characterize non-ideality in bioreactors.

This course is FOR

Students with a background in Biotechnology, Bioprocess Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering are the target audience.
