About Course
Appreciating linguistics: A typological approach
This course values linguistics as an academic subject concerned with determining what constitutes natural language and what the systematicity of language comparison entails. This course studies both the structure (form) and usage (function) of language using a typological approach. This course deals with languages since it focuses on the subject of language typology.
This workshop provides a quick conceptual and practical toolset for integrating technical and social support to achieve greater inclusiveness in ICT design. To that goal, we’ll examine three axes of exclusion: class, disability, and gender.
The seminar will analyze data from several language families (with a special focus on South Asian languages), allowing participants to better understand how distinct grammatical constructions are realized in different languages.
